Brandy, or brandywine, is a kind of spririt from distilling wine. Typical brandy has an alcohol volume of 36-60%.

Cognac (干邑) is a special type of brandy produced in cognac region of France. Remy Martin (人头马) and Martell are major producers of cognac.

Remy Martin is classified as follows:

  1. 7- years of barrle aging: VS
  2. 7-12 years: VSOP
  3. 12-15: Club
  4. 15-20: Napolean
  5. 20-30: XO
  6. 30-50: L'Aged'or
  7. 50+: Louis XIII, using crystal bottles made by Baccarat[PP]
